Radio JAZ radio alarm clock Gardic 1977 - 1979 France unique vintage collection
Introducing the GARDIC Radio Jaz radio alarm clock from the iconic Jaz Electronic range! This vintage beauty is powered by battery-operated electric movement, requiring 1 LR6 battery for the alarm clock and 4 batteries for the radio. A coveted model featured in the 1977 catalog on page 8, referenced as 4406-41, this classic timepiece showcases a sleek black plastic case with matching dials, measuring 19 x 7.5 x 6.3 cm. While it may no longer be available since 1980, this timeless piece is in impeccable working condition and comes complete with its original box (sorry, the catalog is not included). Add a touch of retro charm to your space with this unique find!
Jaz is a French company and during the German occupation in World War Two, jazz music was considered to bear pro-American influences. As a result, jazz was censored and this censorship extended to the clock brand. To get around the censorship, Jaz incorporated a Jaseur (British Waxwing bird) into their logo; this can be seen on this particular clock.
